Loved the wine. The lady was very friendly and informative!! Worth the stop if you are at St James. More quaint and less commercial.
Nice wine with nice people. For $5 they privide samples of every wine in their large variety. The hostess was a very pleasant presenter who went above and beyond normal levels of service (had more bread before our appetizers ran out, made photocopy of some media for us, and when she didn't know an answer to our questions she quickly got the information from those who did know). We selected a seasonal offering (a blend with clove) to take home.
Small, overpriced portions, mediocre wine at best. Owner is an extremely rude elderly woman. I will never be back to this abomination of a winery.
Only stopped to sample a few wines, but left with a few bottles. I strongly recommend the Norton. Owner is friendly and welcoming.
My wife and her friend went wine tasting and visited the three wineries in our hometown St. James, MO with our two children to enjoy a girls day. The Meramec Vineyards was the most distasteful winery, the host, the old white hair lady scolded my girls for looking at the pretty things in store. She walked over and told them to just leave stuff alone and then placed her hands on the shoulder of both girls and walked them with force, and made them stand by the counter. Then when another family walked in with their kids she told us we were at our limit and that we had to leave. For family orientated that's a lie. I really recommend the St. James Winery who had a table set up with juice and crackers for kids, and welcomed us with a smile.
